An academic advisory panel for Cabinet Office analysts

Posted by: , Posted on: - Categories: Analysis, Analysis and Insight

Are you an academic analytical expert who’d be interested in providing us with specialist advice, peer review and quality assurance?

Cabinet Office is planning to appoint up to 8 academic experts to provide our professional analysts with a source of on-call academic advice and peer review. We employ about 40 analysts from the professions of Economics, Statistics, Social Research and Operational Research, and our work directly informs policy development across a wide range of policy areas - check out Analysis & Insight’s blog posts for a flavour of what we do.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for people who can provide us with two types of support – on-call academic advice (often by phone or email) and peer review of analytical work prior to publication. We’re planning to appoint two experts from each of four fields:

  • Applied microeconometrics
  • Applied time-series econometrics and forecasting
  • Qualitative or quantitative evaluation
  • Advanced survey analysis, including survey weighting, factor analysis and structural equation modelling, cluster analysis, latent class analysis and multi-level modelling.

A couple of things to note - we can’t guarantee you will be called upon if you are on the panel, and we’ll need to pay you by purchase order.

Please get in touch!

If you’re an expert in any of these fields, we’d love to hear from you. Please email stephanie.anscomb@cabinetoffice.gov.uk for us to send you an invitation to tender – that will cover what we’re looking for in lots more detail, our Terms and Conditions, and our Response Guidance for your tender. The deadline for tenders is 17th November, and you can ask clarification questions until 10th November. We’ll look forward to hearing from you.
